Hello! My names Rachael Storie,
I am 16 years old and I live in surrey BC, and I have been playing rugby for a little over 3 years. When I first started playing this sport, I could have never imagined experiencing the wonderful opportunities it has given me. I have played and reperesented the Fraser valley for the past 3 years, and I am looking forward to representing it next year in a older age catagory. Last year, BC scouts were at the Provincial regional championships scouting for girls to play for the u15/u16 Provincial team, without going to the first initial ID session, I had been selected by the coaches to tryout at the u15 invite only tryout, and was selected to represent my province shortly after. This year, the same thing has happened, but for the u16 team. I was one of the selected 28, and 24 will be travelling to Toronto, Ontario mid august. It is such an incredibly and once in a lifetime opportunity to learn, grow and create new friends from all over canada while simultaniously playing the sport I have an undying love for. In the future, my goal is to work towards representing the province in the womans catagory, and working towards playing for Canada.
Because 4 girls will not be travelling to toronto, there is a possibility I could be on the non travelling list. If so, I promise to donate the money not used to BC rugby foundation so that no kid will have to struggle to play the sport they too love.
I pay for rugby all on my own, and I have ever since I began to play, equiptment, fees, tours. I have 13 siblings and I am the only child in my family to play sports, and to make things fair for everyone I don't expect anything from my parents, we just recently went through a kitchen fire which has left my whole family displaced, and in financial hardship. I was always taught to work hard for what I want, I have a job but because the payment of this team is coming up fairly quickly and I only work part-time it is not possibly to make ends meet in this amount of time, this is why, anything you can spare will be so deeply appreciated. Anything helps, at the end of the day youll be the one helping me live out one of my dreams and for that I couldnt be more thankful. Thank you for taking the time to read my page,
sincerely, Rachael Storie.
