Tygart Valley Homestead School

Hello friends!  We, the citizens of Dailey, East Dailey and Valley Bend communities are in need of your help.  Our local elementary school, Homestead School, is the last functioning school built during the Franklin Roosevelt Administration "New Deal" era.  Our school was built in 1939 by the USDA, as part of Eleanor Roosevelt's plan to help struggling families during the Great Depression.  Our School is the hub for activities in our small community, and we ask you to join us in our effort to save our school.  Homestead School needs a new roof, and several other updates to bring it up to current code standards.  Due to the current economic conditions in our region, there is no government funding available to address these issues.  Our local parents, alumni, teachers and concerned citizens are coming together as a group, committed to raising the necessary funds to ensure the proper maintenance and needed repairs, to prevent the closing of Homestead School.  We ask for your help to Save Our School!  Please help us spread the word!  Thank you!
