JFS Refugee Family Fire Fund

We are Jewish Family Service of Buffalo and Erie County (JFS), an agency based in Buffalo, NY that resettles refugees from all over the world. We welcome displaced people from numerous countries - including D.R. Congo, Burma, and Afghanistan - and help them to start their new lives by providing housing and furniture and assisting with employment, school, and cultural and language adaptation. Last week, 14 of our clients were displaced from their apartments due to a fire in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood. They are now homeless and must rebuild everything they own from nothing. 

We at JFS will do everything possible to assist these families, but we need your help. We are collecting funds to refurnish their apartments and provide them with the necessary personal items they need to live happy and productive lives. Funds will be used for furniture, kitchen equipement, clothing, baby needs and food.

Funds are needed as soon as possible in order to move people out of their hotels and into their own apartments where they can focus again on building their new lives.
