On behalf of my siblings and I, we'd like to first thank God for all that he has blessed us with, most especially for the gift of today, for tomorrow is never promised. We hear this countless times and still, we were far from prepared for the passing of our dearest MOM. Two months ago, our Mom was diagnosed with late stage 3 lung cancer. At the time, we thought we still had time to treat it, but unfortunately, we did not foresee the many complications that arose along the way. While our Mother Dearest was still alive and well, she spoke about how desperately she wanted to go back home to American Samoa so she could spend whatever time she had left with her Mom, our Grandma. As much as she loved her children, her heart yearned to see her own mother one last time. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread too far to the point she was no longer able to travel. So she agreed to undergo chemotherapy, in the hopes of shrinking the cancer just enough to give her a little more time with loved ones, and if possible, to be well enough to make the trip home. On July 22, 2016, our Mom took her last breath and I'm sure God was waiting for her with open arms. Although we did not anticipate losing her this soon, we take comfort in knowing she is free from all the pain and suffering of this world. The purpose of this GoFund account is to humbly ask for any donations to help us in honoring our Mom's last wishes to go home, including preparations to rest in Hilo, Hawaii while she awaits travel. We were unable to make her wish come true while she was alive, but we have decided to still honor it now. We appreciate anything that is donated with a thankful heart and pray that God bless you all and your families tenfold for the love shown to us, but especially to our Mother Dearest in this most difficult and trying time.
