Keeping Kyare at Morehouse
A 2015 graduate of Eastern Senior High School, Kyare is a resident of DC's Ward 8. Put simply, he is one of the most exceptional individuals I have ever had the opportunity to know. During his time at Eastern, Kyare served as a tutor with Reach Incorporated for 3 years. He committed to serving as a reading tutor for second and third grade students. He earned several promotions, becoming a member of Reach's Junior Staff, the organization's highest honor. He is also the author of two children's books - The Gloomy Light and Khalil's Swagtown Adventure - and regularly reads to children at school and community events.
After high school, he matriculated to Morehouse College where he entered the dual-degree engineering program. At the end of his first year, he was named the program's most outstanding student. Unfortunately, finances have gotten in the way. Due to his family's financial situation, Kyare is hoping to raise money to support his continued studies.
I am committed to working with Kyare to help him complete his college education. Through additional scholarship seeking efforts, and potentially additional fundraising, I know it can be done.
Whether you've been inspired by meeting Kyare or you came across his campaign on CNBC or in Forbes, we hope you will consider helping this exceptional young man complete his degree by making a financial contribution. #GFMScholarship
