Hello, my name is Candice Hubbell aka Ms. Hubbell, a teacher at Sanders Elementary school, located on the border of the Navajo Reservation. I am a 24 year old Navajo woman, I graduated at Haskell Indian Nations University in 2015. It will be my second year teaching 3rd grade, which I am super excited and more prepared for what to expect.
I created this page because many of my students were unable to purchase supplies needed in the classroom. I willingly went and bought supplies for my students, this year is a little different I have an 8 month old who I need to provide for. I am now seeking for help for funding that will buy a pencil sharpener, pencils, notebooks, folders, binders, and water bottles. You are probably wondering why my students need water bottles. Well, our school's water supply contains high levels of Uranium. So last year, our elementary school water supply was turned off, and classrooms were given water jugs and cups for students to drink water. The cups became wasteful and our water jug went empty fast, and the time spent for students to get in line took away instruction time.
This funding would help tremendously, I want what is best for my students and if that means providing for them, then I will. I will tell my students about all the wonderful donors who helped me get all classroom supplies.
