Boy Scout Troop 391 of Hamburg, MI
T391.org
Boy Scouts has been a part of our history, developing young men in leadership, since 1910. After World War I, the families in the Hamburg, MI area recognized the importance of promoting this exceptional program within the community.
In 1932 a local family donated property in downtown Hamburg, MI to what was originally Troop 1. The property was donated under a 100-year lease to Troop 1, and within a few years the young men in the town built a cabin on-site for use by the Boy Scout troop. The cabin has served as a gathering point for the Boy Scouts of Troop 1, which is now known as Troop 391 today. The boys enjoy having events at the cabin, as well as overnight camp outs especially during the winter months.
In use for over 80 years, this historic site is in dire need of repairs. Troop 391 is now a very small Troop with an involved parent base who have taken on many of the repairs themselves. Last summer, windows were replaced and the cabin was cleaned, but bigger and more costly projects exist:
1. Roof replacement
2. Rotting logs replaced
3. Cabin stained and Chinked
4. Concrete sidewalk replaced
5. Tree trimming
We will need professional help for many of these projects and therefore are raising funds to help repair and save this historical beauty in Hamburg, MI.
Troop 391 wants to preserve the cabin for our current Troop as well as for our Boy Scouts of the future!
Any donations are considered tax-deductible and checks can be sent to: Troop 391 – Scout Cabin Fund 7701 M-36, Whitmore Lake, MI 48189
