My Medical Mission Trip to Kenya

I'm Cliff Tewis, a pre-med student at Florida Atlantic University. I'm going to Kenya  this August to provide medical aid to Kenyans in need through the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC). OCMC is the overseas medical and missionary arm of my Church and sends teams all over the world.

Kenya has been undergoing political upheaval and many people are suffering from serious medical problems because of it. My team will provide medical care to patients who otherwise would have none. Some of the care is critical. We will treat patients with diseases such as malaria and HIV/AIDS. Other care is less acute but just as important such as infections and wound care. 

Our days will consist of clinic work and health education in nearby schools. The team consists of doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals and is led by a priest that was a medic in the army. I was selected because of some extra work I have done in the medical field as a pre-med student.

I need to raise $3,000 for the trip. I'm a student so there isn't any extra money in the bank.  I am counting on friends and others who want to invest in caring for others in dire need to help our team provide that care. 

This work is good and important. It will bring healing to the people we help. That is why I am going to Kenya and that is why I am asking for your support.
