Wesley's Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
I would first like to take this opportunity to thank all of my family and friends who have been there for me during the initial period of uncertainty and shock that I experienced after recently discovering that I have a form of cancer in the 3rd stage. You know, the kind that only men get.. (Yes, you read it correctly.)
Many of you who are reading this may be just as surprised to hear this news as I was when I first received the diagnosis. Everything has moved so fast since I was in the emergency room on July 8th. I have had 2 different operations and more appointments than I care to recall. Luckily, all of the doctors and nurses have been outstanding and this type of cancer has a high probabilty of being cured within the next 2-3 months. (Fingers crossed!)
I am currently typing this message from the 3rd floor of the Mission Cancer Center in Asheville, NC as I recieve my first infusion of cancer fighting drugs (aka, chemotherapy.) Although there will be many more treatments to come, I feel a great sense of ease and optimism due to the many prayers that have been sent up on my behalf as well as the large amount of support that I've recieved from those very close to me. (You know who you are.)
After the past few weeks of doctor visits and much deliberation, I have finally decided to create this campaign for 2 main reasons. The first reason is to clear the air and let everybody know exactly what's going on and to let you know that I am well despite the current situation. The second reason is that aside from the uncertainty of how this disease and treatment will affect me physically, I have serious concerns about how it will affect me finacially.
Thankfully, my insurance has allowed me the freedom to undergo the neccesary surgeries to head off the problem and get me to a place where chemotherapy can hopefully finish the job. However, I'm discovering that this type of therapy is quite expensive and will also cause me to miss some work days.
So with all of this being said, here I am, asking for your help. If you are unable to make a donation, I totally understand. All I ask is that you keep me in your prayers, and know that I will beat this and come back stronger than I was before.
Sincerely,
-Wesley Allen
