Tims fight for life
Hey everyone, my name is Taelor Wattenburg and I am starting this GoFund account on behalf of my Step-dad Tim Jackson♡
On June 21, 2016,Tim had a stroke like episode which caused him to black out, hit his face on the concrete which caused a large gash above his eye, and resulted into him having seziures. He was taken to Banner Lassen by ambulance and after results from an MRI showing a large mass on his brain he was flown to Renown Trauma Center. Tim spent 3 days in the ICU undergoing series of tests. The following week Tim went back to have a biopsy done to determine the type of brain cancer and it's severity where he spent 2 more days in the ICU. The following week he developed a blood clot from his knee to his ankle where he spent 2 more days in the hospital. After a very long wait we finally received results. Oligodendrogliomas (Brain tumor) is the type of cancer and It is Stage 2. Not cureable, non operable but is treatable with Chemo and Radiation. The tumor is about the size of a fist and is on the right side of his brain. A plan of attack was put into place which is to start 6 weeks of chemo and Radiation 5 days a week. After the 6 weeks he will have a 4 week break and then a brain scan to determine the 2nd plan of attack. August 8, 2016 Tim started undergoing the chemo and Radiation and now continues in hopes of getting this tumor shrunk! Although Tim has insurance the medical bills are more than $7,000.00 just for his deductibles. Not to mention the gas and expenses driving back and forth to reno 5 days a week every week. It's been a very long and hard process for our family but you can only imagine the impact it is having on Tim!
Tim retired from High Desert State Prison in 2011 after over 17 years! He was very involved with the community where he spent several years volunteering with Lassen County Search and Rescue and Toys for Tots. He is a very outgoing and active man. He has a mini farm, he loves hunting, fishing, being outdoors in general and has just an all around positive outlook on life. We all pray constantly for his high spirits and positives vibes to stay as he goes through this. We also understand that sometimes it's okay to ask for help. If you can donate that would be amazing but if you can't please just share Tim's story so we can keep the prayer chain going♡ We appreciate every single one of you! Please keep Tim in your prayers.
