Internship in Mossel Bay, S. Africa

My name is Marisa Kulis, I am currently a junior at Worcester State University, studying communications focusing in sports media. My goal in life is to work for an NHL team doing social media and writing. Part of my degree plan is to get an internship. I have applied to many but have had no luck, until now. I recently applied to an internship with Oceans Campus in Mossel Bay, South Africa where I will be program for Environmental Journalism and Travel Writing.
Although it's not the ideal internship I'd like to be doing but having something like this on my resume could do so many amazing things. This is one opportunity that I certainly can't pass up. Some of the things I will be doing:
-News coverage of seasonal activities: Knysna Oyster Festival, Jeffrey's Bay Surfing Competition, Robertson Wine Festival
-On location travel piecesEnvironmental hot topics: Australian Shark Cull, Shark Deterrents, Trophy Hunting for ConservationTutorials: including how to brand yourself; use of social media, interview techniques
Being a full time student and working only a few times a month during the school semester is tough. This trip is approximately $5,500 with a $350 deposite so secure my spot in the program.
The cost will cover:
-flight
-Dorm accommodation
-Traditional meals
-Program expeditions
-Tuition and mentoring
-Program instructors
-Adventure of a lifetime
-Gear and Equipment
I will be posting updates here and on other soicial media (Instagram & Facebook). Donations large or small are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Marisa
