Help Lila get her smile back
On Saturday Sept. 3rd, Lila Hadway, aka drag king Parker Perry, was assaulted after performing at a drag show sponsored by the Court of Tacoma that raised money for Capital City Pride. As Lila left the event with her wife, Angela and another friend, a man attacked her wife and then severely beat up Lila. This is the second violent hate crime that has occurred in downtown Olympia in less than a month.
Lila’s injuries include a serious concussion, loss of vision, broken teeth, bruised ear drum, many bruises and multiple lacerations to her face. Lila will need surgery for a full dental extraction and denture implants. Be advised: the attacker is still at large.
Lila and her wife, Angela, are very well known in the drag circuit & both donate much of their time and energy to raise money for LGBTQ non-profits Like Capital City Pride. This hate crime assault will affect Lila, Angela & their 3 children for the rest of their lives. The effect is not just physical or financial – hate crime takes away your sense of safety and security. It rocks your world.
Supporters will link Lila & Angela with the State Crime Victim Advocacy Office to help pay for medical expenses, however Lila will not be able to work for some time & needs community support to pay living expenses. Lila and Angela have three kids to support as well. They need their community’s support.
Lila posted this on FB "I don't want to smile. He broke my smile." The words that he broke her smile....broke my heart. She is always so happy and had a huge heart. Let's show Lila that NO ONE can break her smile. Period. Please help donate to help her get her smile back. Anything helps, if it's a dollar you would usually slip her while she performs or something more...it will mean the world to her no matter what.
If you have questions feel free to ask.
