Help us open our RAMEN SHOP

My name is Jeffrey Stoneberger, and I have long held a dream of opening my own restaurants. I've worked in some of the best kitchens in the world with a vast array of amazingly talented people who taught me a lesson I plan to incorporate into our businesses: Every person who walks in is equally important—everyone is a VIP.

For the past year, I've tried without the aid of outside investment to finance a restaurant concept we are calling:

2Nixons

2NIXONS CONCEPT

At 2Nixons, we serve artisan ramen noodles that concentrate on the seasons and the availability of ingredients in the moment for the most unique and memorable flavors. We want to use ramen to celebrate the farms and their great produce the same way people have celebrated the bounty of the seasons through Italian culture and pasta. We plan on opening in the city of Charleston, South Carolina, because the Holy City has become my home. Even while working elsewhere, I always dreamt of coming back to Charleston and creating a restaurant that was affordable, but could be highlighted on a national stage.

2NIXONS BACKGROUND
Our name is a play on the fact that after Richard Nixon visited China in 1972 and was seen eating with chopsticks on TV for the first time, Asian culture exploded in America.

I used to steer away from doing Asian food because I was a white dude from the suburbs, so what did I really know about Asian food? I have answered this question time and time again, and it has been this project that has truly allowed me to be totally free behind the stoves.

2NIXONS NEXT STEPS
Opening this restaurant would be an incredible adventure for me and my family, as I am a single dad raising two amazing kids. Since launching in August 2015, we have successfully sold-out the 40+ pop-ups we have hosted, which gives us incredible hope for the future and viability of this concept in Charleston. We have recently invested all of our savings into the purchase and storage of both small / large equipment and the facilitation of all licensing for the business.

We're dedicating a lot of time looking for the right location for 2Nixons. To keep our dream alive in the meantime, we continue to host multiple pop-ups throughout Charleston with our friends at local craft breweries—like Revelry Brewing, where you can catch us every Sunday—and restaurants that share our passion for craft.

As we get so close to signing a lease for a brick-and-mortar space, we're growing more and more excited to share our unique vision with Charleston and our friends and family who visit us, and the only thing holding this up is a lack of initial funding.

We encourage you to donate what you can and help turn our dream into a reality: No amount is too small.

Thank you,

Jeffrey Stoneberger
