Rachel's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Many of you know that while on a Rotary Exchange Program, Rachel Owens became seriously ill with what doctors believe to be Thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder that caused her to develop blood clots in her legs, abdomen and lung. Rachel's parents immediately flew to Brazil to be by her side. Rachel is receiving the best medical care in Sao Paulo, Brazil and is in stable condition. The Owens Family wishes to extend their gratitude for all of the messages, prayers, and well wishes they have received. Although insurance does cover some aspects of her care, the financial need is great. Kathy (mom) will need to stay in Brazil with Rachel for several weeks until Rachel is able to fly home without medical risk. Kathy will also be away from her classroom for several weeks unpaid. Upon her return, Rachel will undergo more testing to develop a treatment plan. Many of you have asked how you can contribute; please help in making this terrible situation a little less of a financial burden. Thank you!
