Cancer is my Marathon

A marathon was never on my bucket list, however, that is exactly what fighting pancreatic cancer has become. My marathon began just before Mother's Day when "I'm sure it's a gallstone" turned into cancer. I underwent "Whipple" surgery at UAB May 17th and left the hospital 10 days later to recover at (sister) Margaret and Pete's home in Clarksdale. Just as I was getting comfortable, a major infection resulted in my being airlifted back to Birmingham for a two month stay. Following a rehabilitation stint in Tupelo, I am now back in Clarksdale being lovingly cared for by Margaret Nightingale!

For the past 8 years I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the kindest and most generous people at Create Foundation. I miss going to work and seeing their smiling faces each day. Sadly, I also miss the paycheck which is why I am now asking for your help! This uphill marathon is one I am determined to win. I want to be here for my children, David, Bramlett, and Meredith. I want to be here for their graduations and weddings. I want to be here to look into the beautiful faces of their children, my grandchildren. I am fighting the fight and with your love and support we will finish the race. 

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!' The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him." Lamentations 3:22-25
