Help Shannon Help the Homeless

On Thursday nights, a small group of volunteers comes together to make burritos and then distribute them with a bottle of water and hygienic products to the homeless. Last week, we met Shannon. His story motivated us to help him and hopefully it will motivate your support too!
Shannon is 19. After living a life of what he describes as "miserable, mean and selfish", he discovered that way of life was only going to become more miserable over time ... so he decided to make a drastic change by leaving his Chicago home and begin hitch-hiking. After nine days of surviving the summer heat, he ended up in the homeless capitol of the USA: Los Angeles, where he's been living on the streets for more than three months. His daily life includes pan-handling and staying safe from the many evils that lure around the corners. The only difference though, between Shannon and most of the other homeless is that he chose to be homeless in order to truly experience and learn what it's like to literally have nothing, and write a book and vlog about it all.
As a result of living among the homeless, Shannon is discovering that true happiness comes through acts of selfless love. He discovered the motto, F.A.M.I.L.Y., "Forget About Me, I Love You", as a way of life as he claims to never have been more happy.
One of his goals is to show the world examples of equality and unity which stem from his experiences. Unfortunately, today he became a victim of theft as his most important belongings were stolen from him while he slept. Even though this could prove tragic, Shannon persevered and maintained his smile and composure and is determined to continue on this homeless journey.
We decided to help his cause by starting this GoFundMe page because we want to help him get his book and vlogs published as we believe his writings will help anyone who comes across them to become a force for goodness and truth in a broken world.
