Help Us Award Special Education Classroom Grants!
This year the Shoreline Special Needs PTSA would like to support our district’s special education teachers and staff with classroom grants for the 2016-17 school year. Our fundraising goal is $300, which would double what is currently approved in our PTA budget. The campaign runs through Oct. 31, 2016. A committee will be formed to determine how awards will be given, with the board’s suggestion that it be determined via lottery from applications received.
The Shoreline School District has approximately 1,500 students supported by 504 and IEP plans. We want to support the efforts of the teachers, paraprofessionals and other school staff who work hard to help our children learn and thrive in their school environments.
What types of things do we envision supporting with the grants? Examples might include special education materials, books, adaptive equipment, inclusion and social supports, sensory equipment, guest presenters on special education topics, etc.
Because the Shoreline Special Needs PTSA is a 501c3 charity your donations are tax deductible.
We hope you'll join us in expanding the support for these educators! #GFMtoSchool
