Rebekah's final push to midwifery
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for checking out my page!
Read on about how I am raising money for my midwifery education through a Bake Sale! Happening Memorial Day -- Monday, May 30, 2016 in Lakewood, CO. It's okay if you are not local or will be out of town, there are still ways to help. :)
My name is Rebekah Adams and I have been pursuing becoming a midwife for the past 9 years. I have wanted to be a midwife for many more years and after 3 children, 9 moves (over 4 states), and plenty of obstacles, I am ready for the final push in my midwifery training!
I am working on becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. The route I have chosen includes a traditional apprenticeship and my own studies. When I fulfill all the requirements, I will take a national exam and when I pass I plan to register with the state of Colorado as a midwife! Check out this link for more information.

I have completed the first two phases and am going to pack up my kids and travel to a birth center in Utah this summer to start the final push in my last phase of training. Check out this link for more information about the birth center. http://birthingyourway.com/
After looking into it for many years and touring several centers last summer in several states, I decided on this birth center. Since then I have been saving money for my tuition and am happy to say I have raised all the money needed for tuition -- over $7,000. In the last couple years I have also spent over $3,500 for various things related to my education- workshop fees, application fees, a computer, text books, travel fees.
What am I raising money for then?
Travel, gas, airline tickets (for my husband who will drive our family there and back), food, childcare.
I have re-certification fees for CPR and NRP (neonatal resuscitation training) and additional workshops.
Eventually I will have fees for submitting paperwork and taking my NARM exam as well as state fees to register as a midwife.
What am I doing to raise this money? A Bake Sale!
I am not opposed to people supporting my education by giving me money (feel free to donate here), but I have been thinking of ways to raise money and the answer has come to me: baked goods! I figure I can use one of my other talents -- baking -- to help me raise money.
I will be holding a bake sale on Memorial Day -- Monday, May 30th 2016.
How can you support me?
Spread the word
Help me with supplies
Help with baking
Help with setting up
Buy baked goodies!
I will have more information coming, but I will be taking pre-orders for items that can be picked up the weekend before or on Memorial Day.
Some of these will include fresh baked bread, cookies, and homemade goat cheese cakes made with milk from my very own goat Edith.
