Carnegie: Performance of A Lifetime

Hello, everyone! I'm here to represent the young men and women of the Omaha Northwest High vocal music department, where I serve as director. SAVE
Our young people have been offered a fantastic opportunity to travel across the country to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City! They will be joining a number of other choirs singing two large pieces for choir and orchestra over Memorial Day weekend of 2018.
We are asking for your help in assisting our young people with their goal of traveling and experiencing this opportunity. We estimate that it will cost between $1,500-$1,800 per student to attend, and we hope to bring 45 students and/or parents with us- which means we'd ultimately need to raise $67,500 or more.
This campaign is a small first step; your donation will help offset the cost of travel for our students, who are also raising their own funds separately.
We have some tenacious young people who work hard and are doing their best to earn and save funds for food, lodging / residency and transportation to and from the City of New York. For the majority of our students however, the financial burden is too great to allow them to travel.
Besides the chance to rehearse and perform with musicians of high caliber in one of the most prestigious venues in the country / world, our students will also be able to experience life and culture outside of the city of Omaha. Our motto is "Teamwork, Unity and Family"- this represents our strong belief in the power of music to learn and connect to each other as human beings.
