Scott Pianowski and I enjoy doing The Breakfast Table Podcast to help you navigate your way through the fantasy football season. But there are costs involved in time, equipment and web hosting that need to be covered for the podcast to continue as planned. We also need to pay for a new Breakfast Table Podcast graphic that's more iTunes appropriate. So please help us reach our goal in the next 30 days.
We know that people typically offer rewards for donations but the reward is really the podcast itself. We already answer your questions on Twitter. And no one wants to have the podcast interrupted by reading a laundry list of names. The goal for this campaign may seem high but there are taxes involved, fees for the fundraising and then, once equipment and hosting are accounted for, about $30 apiece for each of the 25 episodes we'll plan to file this season. So this is hardly a money-making endeavor but something that beats what we are likely to generate via advertising. And funding this way in no way detracts from overall, uninterrupted listener enjoyment.
Scott and I understand full well that listeners live in a media environment where the expectation is that content creators work for free -- that things like this podcast just sprout up naturally and require no real effort. But that's not true. There is considerable work involved to provide The Breakfast Table, work that we both greatly enjoy but work nonetheless.
