Kathy Kave Cancer Fund

My name is Michael King, typically referred to as "Soundguy Mike" by Kathy Findlay who seemingly a million people know as "Kathy Kave."  If you know me, there is a good chance it is because you know the work that I do with Kathy at the Kave in Bucksport, Maine.  The Kave has made Kathy a countless number of friends and over these years made her my best friend.

I'm asking for help today to aid Kathy as she starts her fight with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). This type of cancer starts in the bone marrow and forms cancer cells out of the cells which would form blood cells.  The acute forms of cancer are particularly aggressive and fast acting.  

Kathy likes to rely on herself and would never ask for donations of money.  However, in the time leading up to her diagnosis, she found it difficult to work and quit her job thinking that her symptoms were stress induced.  With no job, her family lost the primary source of income and she currently has no insurance to cover the hospital stay, treatment, or other costs incurred.  

The funds raised here will be given to Kathy's daughter Alicia Findlay, who has taken charge of the family finances and kept an ever watchful eye on Kathy's care.

Although the suggested goal couldn't possible cover all costs involved, it would be assistance while Kathy gets through treatment and works with patient advocates to plan her future after recovery.
