Mulugeta Zewdie Campaign Fund
Donation protected
Global Alliance for the Rights of Ethiopians is calling on all Ethiopians and human right advocates to make contributions to funds needed to support Marathon athlete Mulugeta Zewde who is currently residing in Norway.
On September 6, 2014 , Mulugeta Zewde made the protest gesture now made famous by Feyisa Lelisa in Rio Olympics. He crossed his arms over his head in an effort to bring attention to the plight Ethiopians are facing at home and the violence committed by the regime. He wanted to be the voice for the voiceless. Since then, Mulugeta’s life has not been the same. In an interview with ESAT, Mulugeta has said that his status was in jeopardy as the Norwegian government has refused to issue a resident permit and his request to return home was turned down by the Ethiopian regime accusing him of being a “terrorist.”
Mulugeta has pleaded help from Ethiopians and the International Community as his health is deteriorating and he does not have a legal status to stay in Norway and cannot return to his country as the TPLF regime would not accept him.
Global Alliance would like to call on all Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopians to let Mulugeta know that he is not alone and we support him.
These funds are needed to support him with his medical and legal issues. Please donate whatever amount you can.
Let us support our hero!
