Angel's Journey To Restoring His ❤

Angel is a 5 year old boy who suffers from Marfan Syndrome. He was diagnosed at birth. Has gone through so many obstacles and remains positive and always happy. He had open heart surgery April 14, 2016 for some valve repairs and leakage. Following his heart surgery he came into another obstacle he was in heart block and required another surgery for pacemaker implant on April 22, 2016. Recently visited ER for a hernia which at the moment can not be repaired. Went to Cardiologist to get clearance for procedure come to find out my son is in heart failure. Was admitted and hospitalized for a month. We have now been told he will be requiring a heart transplant due to his heart being extremely weak. His case is a difficult one because of his syndrome there are more risks involved. Despite all my son has gone through his spirits are always high. His faith shows through his will to keep fighting. He requires more attention, testing and more medications to keep him stable. Going to school full time and taking care of his 2 sisters and him is challenging. Support from family in taking care of them while at school helps. Although now with expenses rising and not being able to work due to constant medical appointments, therapy sessions or unexpected events is now getting harder. My son's new home will be CHLA as of January 2017 where he will need to stay until there is a heart for him. Dr's are giving him 1 year to live with his heart now. Working is definitely impossible being that I want to be with my son at all times and as well as his sisters. This is definitely going to be tough having to commute daily is going to take a toll on us financially as well as any other costs that his insurance may not cover. Before his transition to CHLA he will have a nurse from Hospice to visit once a week. I will share updates as often as possible on this journey we are on.
