Elijah's World

This page is to help raise funds to get our 14 month old son sensory equipment so he can have the sensory bedroom he deserves.

Elijah was born in arrowe park hospital. When Elijah was born he looked like any other baby, small and perfect, after 6 hours it became clear that something was wrong he hadn't opened his eyes yet, doctors came and checked him over and didn't understand why, they got a senior ophthalmologist to come have a look at Elijah and she told us she thought Elijah had either very small eyes or no eyes but either way Elijah was going to be blind. We got referred to alder hey to find out what was wrong with our perfect boy. Elijah was 3 months old when we got the diagnosis he has Anophthalmia it means our boy has no eyes.

At 3 months old Elijah also had open heart surgery to save to his life and has since had an operation on his eye sockets to help his face grow and to make room for prosthetics but he will need more of these painful operations over the next few years before he can get his prosthetics and to stop his face from collapsing.

Elijah is now 14 months old and is the most perfect, happy, clever little boy you could ever meet and make us so proud everyday of what he has overcome and how well he is doing, he deserves his own sensory room though, a room full of touches, smells and sounds a room that is his world where he can learn and grow and play safely and happily a room that will help him so much, we are currently trying to save up to move to a bigger house where we can make this dream come true for Elijah so he won't have to share a bedroom with his brother and he can have his whole world as he knows it in his very own bedroom, having his own room is important to Elijah for safety reasons and to help promote independence for him from such a young age and is important for his brother to gain his own independence too.

So we are asking out of the kindness of your hearts can you help us help our son and create a room full of sensory stuff for him to explore to help his dreams and world come true, sensory equipment is so expensive and we get very little help so anything that you can spare at all no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated we just want what any parent wants for their children and that's somewhere they can play happily and safely and grow.

Thank you so much to everyone who are willing to help in anyway to our cause to help Elijah it is greatly appreciated it means so much to us.
