Help Bella Bounce Back!

Donation protected
It's been a long, hard road for our beloved Bella Fisher. Despite numerous setbacks and challenges in her life, e.g., surviving breast, ovarian, and colon cancers; being shot in the neck during active duty while serving a 20 year stint as a Marine (requiring reconstructive surgery); and having the courage to leave several abusive relationships and her "identity" as a domestic violence victim behind for good, she truly epitomizes what it means to be a fighter, survivor, and a winner!

Bella is loved and cherished by her friends, family and fellow Johnstown community members for her kind, loving heart, generosity of deeds and in spirit, a smile that lights up a whole room, and a sincere and far reaching compassion for others. She is a staunch advocate for human rights and especially, health care as a basic human right. Bella recently became a vital and important member of a social advocacy organization, Putting People First- PA. She had a prior career also in the service of others as a former nurse and paramedic before succumbing to illness forced her to stop working.

Currently, Bella is dealing with Multiple Sclerosis (complete numbness /no sensation below the waist), is nonambulatory and wheelchair bound, has Type 1 diabetes, has hemophilia, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, and Crohn's disease. Her wheelchair is not motorized, which greatly exacerbates her preexisting conditions, specifically the severe case of carpal tunnel (with recent surgery on her wrist), asthma and chronic fatigue.

Unfortunately, insurance will not approve Bella's dire need for a motorized wheelchair despite a clear and justified case for it. So please consider making a contribution today to help raise the required funds needed for the motorized wheelchair, which is estimated to cost a minimum of $14,000; and to support ongoing additional medical expenses and current needs related to wheel chair adjustments, significant dental work, and assistance with medical fees i.e. cost-prohibitive medication. I know you would agree that NO ONE should have to choose between putting food on the table vs. purchasing life-saving medicine!

Join us, Bella's PPF friends and family, as we work together to get Bella the wheelchair she needs and rightfully deserves, to live life as fully, painfree and happily as possible! For all the joy she's brought to all of our lives, won't you please help us bring some pain relief and joy back to hers?
