Kenton’s Project- Loving Amanda
Kenton’s Project is reaching out to the people of the Miramichi and beyond for help, Mitchell and Shannon’s friend who is in crisis and has a life threatening situation. It is an emergency!
Our son Kenton Linkletter died December 4, 2013 from suicide, he was only 19 years old. Amanda Browne is now 19 years old and has attempted to take her own life more than once. Kenton’s story is one of undiagnosed mental illness where he suffered alone. Although Kenton looked on the outside like a happy son, brother and friend, he suffered on the inside in silence. Amanda is suffering terribly with thoughts of self-harm and suicide for her entire life. Her life-threatening illness has caused her to suffer on the inside and outwardly.
Amanda and her mother Ginette have been living in a high state of distress (to say the least) for months and years. Since Amanda’s failed attempt of suicide on the Centennial Bridge in Miramichi on Aug. 9, 2016, this family has continued to suffer! People who know this story of Amanda Browne and Ginette DesRoches have been wanting to help but didn’t know how. Now is your chance to do something to alleviate the suffering to this family.
Mitchell and Shannon want to help raise $150,000 to send Amanda for treatment. The family have petitioned and employed the mental health services here in New Brunswick but to no avail. Ginette has contacted and pleaded with doctors and politicians for the last few months. She is exhausted and exhausted all avenues for help. There is help out there for Amanda but it is going to cost a lot of money. Ginette and Amanda have found a treatment facility in Tennessee called Brookhaven!
Shannon and Mitchell did not receive help for Kenton simply because we did not have the chance. We have a chance in Kenton's Project: Loving Amanda!
We need your help, we can do this together!
