Heal LA: Christmas Celebration
Donation protected
Heal Los Angeles is a student organization at Loyola Marymount University located in Los Angeles, California. Heal Los Angeles’ mission is to strengthen and support children and families in need throughout the greater Los Angeles region by fighting child abuse, homelessness, and hunger.
On Saturday November 19th, we are hosting a Thanksgiving Celebration at Rogers Park located in Inglewood, California. We are planning to serve around 250-500 homeless people and low-income families with a warm Thanksgiving dinner.
We will strive to achieve our goal of $10,000, but what makes this event different from many other philanthropies seeking to raise money for a cause, is that it’s an event that will not only raise money to help insure the success of families, but to also bring together all aspects of our community: North side, South side, East and West, rich and poor, children and adults, college students and community members. All of these people, with so many different kinds of lifestyles and life experiences, will come together under one roof to celebrate one thing: they will celebrate a holiday together, as one community. A holiday that revolves around the notions of selflessness, hopefulness, and a commitment to serving others.
This event has the chance to truly inspire and bring together all of Los Angeles to celebrate these ideas, each other and our community... our home!
Any contribution is highly appreciated and we thank you for you efforts in healing Los Angeles.
