Cats of Cal U

Donation protected
We are the Cats of Cal U. We live on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania. Our feral colony is well controlled and taken care of by employees and by local townsfolk. We are healthy and have shelter. Most of us have been spayed or neutered due to the efforts of a few employees with big hearts who conducted Trap-Neuter-Release operations over the past few years. Also, kittens trapped during TNR events have been adopted out to loving homes.

However, there are at least five of us (and several kittens) who will need to be trapped and neutered this fall, to prevent more kittens from being born in the spring.

In April of 2016, one of our main caregivers was tragically killed in a house fire while trying to rescue his own three cats. This man was a champion for cats, building us many warm and cozy shelters and feeding us every day, even on his days off. We sure do miss him.

Other people have stepped up and filled the void, so we are not going hungry. But it is expensive to feed us and pay for our neutering and vetting. Each cat's surgery is $30, which is very reasonable, at the local Humane Society's clinic. A 16 pound bag of cat food is $10, and we go through at least one bag a week.

Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated by our caregivers and by us. A TNR event is scheduled for October 2016. You can sponsor a cat's surgery for $30, a bag of food for$10, or just donate any amount of your choosing to colony upkeep.
