Hurricane Relief for FEP Orphanage
Donation protected
As many of you know, my friend Ashley Wojton has been living in Haiti and working with an orphanage in Les Cayes for many years. The orphanage is Foyer De La Providence (FEP) and around 30 children live there.
Gerta Pierre and Michaelle Thomas are the orphanage director's, and are amazing women who have dedicated their lives to taking care of the children at FEP
Last year they started a new school at the orphanage, providing a Christian education for the girls, and many of the neighborhood children. It has been a huge blessing to all involved!
We have received word that Ashley, Gerta, Michaela and all the girls are safe, but there is limited information on the extent of the damage from Hurricane Matthew. We know that the orphanage was flooded and the gate was broken, a lot of trees are down and the roof is off of Ashley's apartment. The area where the food is stored was flooded and they lost most of their food. And we just heard that they also lost their water tank.
There are going to be many difficult days ahead, and will be many unexpected expenses. Repairs will be needed as soon as possible at the orphanage, and one of the biggest concerns is clean water and food during the next few weeks.
They are all very dear to our hearts as we have built relationships with them during our trips there the past four years. It is difficult being so far away and not physically able to help, so we are asking for you to help us raise money to send to them. I will withdraw all of the money donated, minus the Go Fund Me fees, and will send it to Ashley's bank account in Haiti for her to access and use at her discretion for the many needs at the orphanage and in Les Cayes. Please continue to keep all of them in your prayers as it will be a long road ahead to recover from the devastation from Hurricane Matthew.
Thank you,
