Maiya Takes Morocco!

Greetings! My name is Maiya Roye' and I am a junior Psychology major with an African American psych & pre-law concentration at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.
I was recently accepted into the CIEE Intercultural Engagement Program through Spelman to travel to Rabat, Morocco for two weeks in May of 2017. This trip is designed to expand my cultural scope of the world while examining the effects that socioeconomic status, political efficacy, gender, etc. have on the psychological experience of men, women, and children in Morocco. I am raising money to pay for travel expenses and my campaign will run until the end of February as the cost of airfare is due in March.
I am required to pay a deposit of $600 no later than October 17th, 2016 in order to keep my program scholarship, and the remaining $600 will be due by November 17th, 2016. This will be first time studying abroad so ANY donations that can help make this possible are greatly appreciated.
This opportunity will not only help me grow as a scholar and researcher, but as a person. By immersing myself in another culture I will develop a more globally conscious perspective and cultural humility that is necessary for people in my field.
