Hurricane Matthew Midwifery Relief

Donation protected
Haiti is currently dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. In these times, it is crucial that healthcare services continue to be offered and reinforcements for the providers on the ground are available to ensure quality care is maintained. Women and families especially need to have access to healthcare even amidst tragedy. Sexual and reproductive health services cannot pause during disaster relief, and being able to offer my services at this time is a privilege I hope that you'll help support.

As of October 23, I'm traveling from Connecticut to to offer my services in any capacity that I can as a nurse-midwife. I'll be working at Maison de Naissance and the Olive Tree Project, primarily offering prenatal, postnatal, and HIV care, and learning as much Creole as quickly as possible. I'll be staying for one month.

Any financial assistance you can offer at this time would be greatly appreciated. Midwife Pilgrim is able to cover all in-country expenses but I'm paying to get myself to and from Port Au Prince and for the supplies I'm bringing. I've already purchased many of the items Maison de Naissance requested (sterile cord clamps, batteries, towels, etc) but will make additional purchases on their behalf while I'm in Haiti.

If you have any questions, please don't hesistate to ask!
