Ham Radio Beacons Operational Cost
Donation protected
Hi Folks thank you for looking I have been involved in Ham Radio for 20 years it is a very satisfying Hobby
and one you can help other people with of all ages.
I have Radio beacons set up locally these Beacons
Are propagation indicators they transmit in morse code continuously at low power they are used by other radio enthusiasts all over Australia
and at times they are heard in New Zealand.
My dilemma is they cost money to run each year
aprox $700 in electricty and $50 to licence.
I put the beacons in 3 Years ago with the equipment that i supplied it cost Me $600 there was more equipment donated by two other hams
they are VK3WRE Ralph for the 2 metre unit
and VK7JG Joe for the 432 Beacon with out Joe and
Ralph this project wold not have got going.
I live in a low populated area of south east NSW
and dont have a Club that I can rely on for assistance
I am also a Pensioner so my funds aren't huge
I would be extremely grateful if any radio enthusiasts
out there could help with this fund raising for
our Beacons
and one you can help other people with of all ages.
