GHS Sustainability Project

Hello! 

My name is Jonah Jones-Stevens and I'm a senior here at Greencastle High School. I'm setting out to decrease water usage here at the high school. This is part of a project my Environmental Science teacher Mrs. Phillips has assigned. As individuals we were able to select a project either here at the school, or in the community to increase sustainibility. Some students chose to work on a garden, others are working on getting solar panels put in here at the school, and my project is just another piece to the puzzle. I am attempting to raise the money to purchase and install a retrofit kit for one of our water fountains in the main hallway of the school.  This kit will install on our existing Elkay water fountain and will incorporate a new way to fill students' water bottles. If I can raise the money to get one of these installed, students will be able to easily refill their water bottles without the varying pressures our current water fountains trouble students with. Students will simply be able to place their water bottle under the nozzle, and will recieve freshly filtered water, without any spills. Not only will this lower the the amount of water that is wasted when students miss their water bottle, but they will see on a small screen how many water bottles they have saved! Please help our school become that much more sustainable, we can't do it alone! Any donation is appreciated.
