Help Nick Survive Aplastic Anemia

Donation protected

I am Amy Foley. Our son Nicholas is 13 years old and was recently diagnosed with a rare life-threatening bone marrow failure disease called Severe Aplastic Anemia. Any help would be a blessing.
Prayers and help needed for our son Nicholas Foley he is 13 years old. He will turn 14 in December.

He was admitted to the hospital on October 21, 2016 after getting a call from his doctor's office. The doctors told us then and later confirmed that he has a rare bone marrow failure disease called Severe Aplastic Anemia. Our hearts were broken and since then our lives have changed dramatically.

Aplastic Anemia is a life-threatening bone marrow failure disease in which the bone marrow does not make enough blood cells for the body. The 3 types of blood cells your body needs are: red blood cells (to carry oxygen), white blood cells (to fight infection), and platelets (to control bleeding).

Praise God that his 19 year old brother Mendle Foley's bone marrow test came back as a PERFECT 10/10 MATCH... PRAISE GOD. And blood type match too....

Our insurance is an 80/20 policy. We have to pay a $50 specialty copay everytime he has appointment and thats at least once a week.
With our out of pocket expense cap at $12,000 a year. We're barely at $7000 now and it starts over again in January. That puts us needing $17,000 dollars to help our son.
With his 4 day stay in the hospital, is bone marrow biopsy procedure and recently he had to have a port put in. All this has gotten extremely expensive....

On December 23, 2017 he received 25% of his older brothers bone marrow. God has given us many miracles since that day.... So far he is doing great and we pray that he continues on this path till he is completely healed. He will be on many medications for the next year to prevent GVH disease (Graft vs Host disease). GHV is very dangerous. It's where the body attacks the new marrow and can cause organs to fail. We're still praying that this never happens. We will have to keep him away from sick people and not let him amywhere near dust, mold and mildew of any kind... We have got to remodel our older house. We have to make it as easy to keep clean at all times and as safe as we possible can to prevent him from getting sick and relapsing again... His safety is our #1 priority now and forever....

Unfortunately I (his mother) have been disabled for 10 years now with spinal injuries that are compressing on my spinal cord and I have been repeatedly denied disability. His father has to work many overtime hours to be able to take care of us. Now with our son's disease we have a bigger financial burden to deal with.
When all we should be worried about is our son's life and making sure that he doesn't get sick or get a infection that could be fatal for him. Our focus is to get him cured so he can live a long, healthy and happy life....

Prayers and all help would be Greatly Appreciated....
One way or another, our awesome God will carry him into battle over this disease and he will defeat it...
We also could use help with things around our home that can help keep him from getting sick. We need his environment dust and germ-free. I bought a couple of air purifiers and germ killing UV light but I need more. Could also use help with bush hogging 5 of our 10 acres. If there's anyone out there that can help out in that way please contact me we would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely (Nicholas' mother),
Amy Foley
