Shawn Livingston is a 23 year old, loved by family and friends for his kind and ferrous heart, and his giving nature. In June 2017, while helping a distressed motorist push their car out of traffic, Shawn began to feel dizzy and nauseous as he opened the car door and he fell to the ground resulting in a massive stroke. After arriving at the hospital the doctors discovered he had a leak in his breathing tube and brain swelling resulting removal of a part of his skull to relieve pressure. A cat scan and MRI revealed he has blood colts in both arms and his right leg in his femoral artery, which is very dangerous. He will have to have surgery to place a mesh at his artery so it will block it from potentially reaching his heart and brain which would create another stroke. This was all in June, as he was making amazing progress up until September 2017. Shawn had a blood clot in his cheek after they reattached the muscle because his cheek was sagging after the stroke, they reattached the muscle in his cheek and that in turn caused bleeding and a clot in his face. Currently he is in an induced coma with propofol and the doctor seems very optimistic. He said Shawn is a strong young man and he feels that Shawn will come back without memory loss again or speech impairments, we are praying for the best. However, his parents have endured incredible expenses and they are not wealthy people although they want to give their son optimum care. They have gone through their retirement and their savings, even groceries have been obsolete. It has become a very desperate situation.
