Thank You

On November 9 2010 Bill Atanasoff was a cameraman  for the news at City Tv for 34 years. He was at work and was hit by a drunk driver with no insurance. He was in critical care for 6 months at Sunnybrook and in May 2011 went Bridgepoint Health. I have been caring for him for five years by myself and am only a friend. We get 5300.00 per month from an anuity which doesn't cover half of his monthly costs. I care for him from 7:30 pm until 7:30 am because I can't afford the extra costs. Most of his supplies aren't covered by Sunlife so that runs us around 600.00 a month. I pay for his therapy on top of his nursing care which is around 400.00 a day for a 12 hour shift.  I do the rest and I'm getting run down. Bill is blind and a quadraplegic with a right leg amputation from the accident.  He passes the time listening to sports and audio books. He can't feed himself or scratch his nose so is constant care.  He has some brain damage so his short term memory isn't good and he has lost motivation skills. He is constantly on antibiotics due to infections so I try to stay on top of them to keep him out of hospital. I own a house with him and my partner Orin and I did renovations to our home to make it a mini hospital and brought him home from Bridgepoint hospital a year and a half ago. I quit my job as a dog groomer and care for him 24/7 for five years with out help from his family or friends. It's become overwhelming. We have lost 5 years of mine and partners life. We have live in care but it isn't reliable and only 12 hours of the day.  I would like to hire an agency so I can get some time off as I am restricted to my home 24/7 and have had 5 days off in 5 years, I cook 3 meals a day for Bill and his caregivers and care for him every night from 7;30 pm unt 7:30 am. I have limited funds they are depleting quickly as our costs are 12,000.00 plus per month. I would like to have an agency  give care and be able to go out for dinner or just just take a day to sleep. You can google his name and you will see the tragic accident that happened to him. I just need help so he can stay in his home and I get a bit of freedom and not work everyday for the next 5 years. He has constant infections and I do my best to ensure his care.  He feels safe in the house he had lived in since 1986. I can't keep him here without extra help. Please help us. I really want to keep him at home but I can't unless I get more help. The money will go toward more reliable care and give us peace of mind.
