Caden Dunn - The Little Fighter

Where do we even begin to describe sweet Caden? Caden joined our lives and made this world a happier place on October 15, 2014. He is an absolute sweetheart, the best little brother - son - grandson - nephew, quite the snuggler, loves to play basketball, loves his puppy, and loves yellow school busses. Our world changed on Wednesday, December 14, when Caden had a seizure at daycare. The ambulance picked Caden up from daycare and took him to An AMAZING trauma center. Caden went into cardiac arrest, and praise God, they were able to get his heart beating again with CPR. We figure he experienced approximately 15 to 20 minutes without oxygen or limited oxygen. There is concern about brain damage from lack of oxygen. When they were saving his life they fractured the voice box trying to get the breathing tube inserted. They also had to make a incision in his "six pack" to look for any internal bleeding. So yesterday they did surgery to repair his voice box and six pack. A tracheotomy was also performed. Caden remains in critical condition and sedated and on a ventilator. He is surrounded by love and prayer, and we are playing the waiting game now. We don't know where this road will lead, but we trust that it is in God's hands. We do know the road will be long. Caden is expected to spent a significant amount of time in the ICU and a month or so in the hospital. He has a amazing group of doctors, nurses and surgeons around him continually. The financial impact of his care and the family's time away from work is significant, and any contribution to assist in his care is appreciated by his family. Please continue to pray. We feel all the prayers and read all the well wishes to Caden. We pray for the day he will join his mom, dad, sister Rylee, and puppy Levi at home.
