Ophelia's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
UPDATE:
Today we started bath tub swimming Ophelia to help regain some of her muscles on her left side! She still doesn't use her leg at all, it kind of just dangles or she holds it up... we're doing the most that we can to try to help her regain the use of her leg but unfortunately there's nothing we can do about nerve damage. Looks like we may need to get her leg amputated after all ☹️ (this definitely won't be for about another month/month and a half). We really want to try to get her walking all on fours again. Her spirits are up finally and she's running around, she loves her supplements so that's good because she'll be needing them for the rest of her life so her right hip doesn't do the same as her left.

We are still asking for your help, a donation of a couple dollars means the world to us!! To help with the costs of surgery, medicines, possible amputation surgery ($1,500), and her supplements which are very pricey!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! ✨I'm finally not a teenager, I'm 20 (such an odd age). My only birthday wish is that my Facebook friends and family donate a couple dollars towards Ophelia's gofundme account. $1, $2, $5, $10, etc. ANYTHING HELPS. I appreciate every single one of your donations, from the bottom of my heart. Unexpected medical problems and expenses are what cause most people to just put their fur babies down (I would never). As much as I'd love to just pull my wallet out and pay for everything myself, I just can't. Rent, school, gas to get to and from school/work plus sharing a car with Gideon for him to get to and from work, not working full time to focus on school, CPS bills, AT&T bills, utility bills, groceries, food and monthly flea and heart guard medicine for my fur babies, etc. It's really hard for me to do all of this but I want my baby, Ophelia, to feel 100% again. I'm not one to ask for handouts and it's honestly super embarrassing that it's come to this but I NEED HELP. I don't know if you have seen my recent update on her gofundme but here it is.
UPDATE:
Ophelia hasn't started using her leg at all yet and I know it'll take some time but chances are we'll have to get her leg amputated because of her nerve damage. The incision from her first surgery is healing nicely, thank goodness. I've been massaging her leg some, bicycling her leg a couple minutes a day to gain some of her muscles back, and in about a week or two I'll be able to start bath tub swimming her. We can do anything and everything to help her gain her muscle back but unfortunately nerve damage is its own thing. If she doesn't start to use her leg because of her nerve damage, amputation is our only option. More surgeries, more medicine, more vet visit costs, etc.... it's going to be an adventure forsure but anything for my little fuzz. I love her more than life itself so it hurts me to see her not feeling 100%. Every single donation melts my heart. You're helping Ophelia get better little by little and you should feel really good about that. Thank you in advance for your donations and for spreading the word about this gofundme page. It means the world to me and my little fur baby!
Again, ANYTHING HELPS. A donation to Ophelia's gofundme account would be the best birthday present ever. Even if it's a $1, it gets us one step closer to our goal. Thank you in advance. Xoxoxo much love from me and the light of my life, Ophelia. ❤️

UPDATE:
Picked Ophelia up from my cousins vet office and her surgery went very well!! She had some nerve damage already but we're hoping that with therapy and love that she'll be able to start using that back leg again. If not, she'll have to get her leg amputated and she'll be a 3 legged little fuzz ball (hopefully it doesn't come to this). BUT she is so so happy now and she doesn't hurt at all which is all that matters. Drove to Oklahoma and back 2 times in a week just to make sure my baby would be in the best hands ever and get the help she needed. Bye bye bad hip, hello new happy life. ❤️❤️❤️

Here's a picture of my perfect little princess on our ride home today sleeping like an angel on her new bed, it's so big and fluffy and comfortable. And the second picture is at home on her new bed with her favorite blanket! We love her so much!! (Pics are in the upstate section I believe... still having a hard time with this gofundme stuff lol)

UPDATE:
Hey guys! Thank you all so much for the donations and shares, it means the world to us and our little girl Ophelia. I just wanted to update you guysh on what's going on with her!

We were told Ophelia had severe patellar luxation in her back left leg and abnormal hips at our last vet visit and that's what was causing her so much pain and for her to hop on 3 legs. We got some X-rays done and it looks like her patella is just fine but she has bad hips. Ophelia has what they call Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease (LCPD). This is a disease that results in abnormal deformity of the ball part of the hip joint. The disease starts with an insult to the blood supply of the head of the femur bone and as the blood supply is damaged, the bone dies off or disintegrates. Arthritis or inflammation of the hip joint results, which causes the pain and the lameness of the leg! So basically, she needs a new hip! The picture shows Ophelia's back left leg (on the right side in the picture). Once she has surgery, we were told she'll feel like a brand new pup! She is going to have to take supplements to make sure her other hip joint stays healthy but besides that and some therapy, our baby is gonna be ok! Again, thank you all so much for the donations, shares and prayers!

Hello, my name is Ann and I am the mother of this beautiful little shih tzu/poodle mix named Ophelia. We recently found out that she has severe patella luxation in her back left leg and abnormal hips. My puppy is in so much pain, she can't walk on or put any pressure on her leg what so ever. She doesn't run around like she used to, she doesn't chase our cats or like to play. She hops on 3 legs and she screams when we touch her. All she does is lay around because it hurts to move. It's depressing. She was so full of life before and now she's just hurting all the time. I was told the estimated cost of surgery (patella luxation surgery) was going to be around $2,600, IF patella luxation was her only concern, not including the vet visit costs, x-rays, medication, and therapy. We won't know much more about her hips until our next appointment. As much as I'd like to just pull out my wallet and pay for it myself, I just can't afford it on top of rent, bills, school, etc. I need help. Every penny counts. If you can't donate, don't worry, I just ask that you share this with your friends and family and spread the word. I want my baby girl to be happy again.
