Kenora Swaby's Support Fund
Donation protected
Kenora Swaby is a single mother of three in my birth country of Jamaica. She suffers from vitiligo, lupus, and an eye disease. Because of her ailments, she has been unable to continue working at the market because the doctors won't allow her to be in the sun. She had also been forced to cease her treatment at the University Hospital of the West Indies because of the debt she owes them.
She's struggling to feed her kids, send them to school and buy her much needed medication. There are days when there is no food to give the children. "It's really really hard. Sometimes I look in their eyes when they tell me that they are hungry, and I know I don't have anything to give them. It pains my heart and I just have to cry," she told Rural Xpress.
This fund is to provide aid to help with Kenora's struggles and to help build a stall which will provide ample shade from the sun, so she may start to earn an income again.
Below you'll find more information in an article published by the Jamaica Gleaner on July 23, 2015.
