Paws 4 Riley
Donation protected
My name is Riley and I'm a 3 year old typical Siberian husky. I escaped my backyard and went on a wild adventure for an entire four days; my mommy nearly went crazy looking for me! Thankfully a homeless man saw that I was injured and needed help, which was why he flagged down a passing police officer and told him I needed to be saved. Two Houston police officers tried to catch me, but I kept on running- I knew they wanted to play chase! My husky roots are deep; I'm an escape artist and a runner, so my natural instinct was to escape at all costs! It was all fun and games, but then a BARC animal control officer had to tranquilize me. Thanks to the tags on my collar the police were able to contact and reunite me with my mommy. She was so relieved! Unfortunately while on my wild adventure I managed to break both of my front paws. Not just one, but both. As if my momma wasn't stressed out enough. It took a few weeks for the vets at NHVS-Willowbrook to perform my surgery, but now I'm bionic! Half pup, half robot. On my left paw they only had to insert one plate and a whole lot of screws, but on my right paw they had to insert two plates at the top and bottom of my joint. My movement in my front paws is now limited, but I'm still the same energetic pup that my mom knows and loves! My mommy is a fully time college student that works in order to give me the best possible life she can. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us, and a long list of veterinary expenses. My mom could use all of the help she can get. In addition to the monthly payments, she has to also pay for my weekly bandage changes! I'm my mommy's best friend, and we can't live without each other. We have been through hell and high water together. Every dollar helps, thank you for your donation!
