Hello, my name is Craig Fox. I'm 49 years ago old, married and a father of 3. I am the morning radio host on a country station, my wife is a registered nurse. We have a 117 year old house in Southwestern Ontario and enjoy time in the warm weather months with our family at our trailer at a park on Lake Erie. We like to travel. Last year we took the family to Disney World. Our daughter enjoys kickboxing. The oldest is an ECE teacher in the nursery at a university in another city. The youngest is in JK and loves anything associated with dinosaurs, Star Wars or Batman. At home we lead a fairly average, quiet life. On October 29, 2016 I suffered a myocardial infarction and everything changed. Four days after my heart attack I underwent angioplasty, where 2 of 5 blockages in my coronary arteries were cleared and stented. Because of their size/position, 3 were not. The 2 stented were on the right side, the remaining 3 are all on the left side of my heart. Because instead of recovering, I still have unstable angina, I was off work for 13 weeks, instead of the expected 5-6 weeks, collecting Employment Insurance sick benefits of roughly 55% of my wages for 11 weeks, following the mandatory waiting period. Needless to say we dipped into our own resources to make ends meet. I have 4 weeks of sick benefits still available before I will be cut off. But I am now being told that I will need a triple bypass to clear the blockages remaining in the left coronary artery. Unfortunately the cardiologist says he's not going to be able to use the less invasive robotic procedure, but rather the old school full surgery. I can expect to go off work again for between 6 and 8 weeks. Financially, this is going to be very difficult. My goal is to raise $5,000. Thank you in advance for your support. If you are unable to donate, just sharing it with others is a great help.
