Mason Byrom is a 12 year old boy,diagnosed 9 years ago with a rare syndrome known as ROHHAD:a syndrome so rare it only affects approximately 80 people in the world: A syndrome with no known cause..and sadly,being progressive,a syndrome with no known cure. Throughout the past 9 years Mason has endured countless hospitalizations,countless days away from his home,and family,and denied the joy of being healthy and being "normal." An old soul,stoic,Mason has never complained about his situation:Such a brave young man:However,recently Mason's condition has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. He has become ventilator dependent 24 hours a day: all day,every day; In the meantime he has suffered a broken femur,followed by unexplained seizures causing in addition a broken hip; If this was not enough,he has been hospitalized twice for Adrenal Crisis,a endocrine issue that can be deadly. We set this account up in the hope we can ease Mason's burden by acquiring a generator,as he is 100% dependent on electricity due to his ventilator.Also he has no handicapped accessible transportation.
