I was born in 1986 @ Hammersmith & West London hospital, Hammersmith Road London W6.
The law changed in 1983 where if none of your parents were British citizens at the time of your birth you automatically are not British, Although I hold a full British Birth Certificate, This only came to my knowledge two weeks ago, when I was detained in the Home Office for 7 hours and was almost deported.
My Mother came to the UK from Barbados in 1968 on her Fathers passport & was only granted (ILR) indefinite leave to remain the first time she left the UK in 1991. Which means she never had (ILR) at the time of my birth.
I'm a single mother of two children aged 9 & 5 who were also born in the UK and this is the only reason why they released me after confirming that my kids were at school.
I have 4 siblings who were all born before 1983 so this law change did not effect them and they all have British passports so does my eldest child.
This situation I have now found myself in I am unable to work which means my home is at risk and I also have no funds to pay for legal advice and a solicitor to assist me with my application for (ILR) & Naturalisation.
I also need financial help to pay my rent and for my childrens basic needs until my benefits have been reinstated or I am able to find work. (At the moment I am unable to work unless I have a working visa)
I am trying to raise funds as soon as possible as I do not know how long I have to apply for ILR before they try to deport me as I was advised by the Home Office to seek legal advice as soon as possible.
This help will be a life saving assistance for me and my family as I am extremely stressed out and in total shock that I am at risk of being separated from my children and all my family members by being evicted from the UK.
This is the only country I have ever lived in for the last 30 years and my children have only lived here in the UK with me. To be torn away from my family will be devasting for myself and my children.
My eldest child has a medical condition Nephrotic Syndrome (leaking kidneys) and has to attend hospital appointments regularly and takes medication daily. If I am removed from the UK, it can be life threatening for my child as he will not be able to recieve the medication he needs.
Receiving help from Gofund me will really make me believe in miracles.
Sometimes in life when you are so down and have no where to go reaching out is so hard to do but I am at a real desperate time in my life never experienced anything so scary and if I can get help to help me to remain in the UK I will be eternally grateful to every single person who has read my story and helped me with this arduous journey I have ahead of me.
