Save Sophie-Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
3/26/17--UPDATE and INFO: We are so close to our goal! If you haven't already--Please, DONATE and SHARE. Small donations matter! They add up. Do what you can...and be proud. Frankie's Friends in Southfield is just getting off the ground and we want to help save more lives locally. You can make the difference between a vet telling a family, "I am sorry we can't save him/her"...and..."We have a little money to work with to save your pet". The reality is that in emergency situations, specialized veterinary care is often required. These specialist often must work in larger corporate offices because they require expensive specialized equipment. In Sophie's case, once she saw the necessary specialist--regular vets refused to work on her because of liability. Believe me. We called everywhere. Specialized vets in these corporate settings often cannot make discretionary decisions about providing no-cost care. Non-profits linked to their hospitals make it possible for them to sometimes work something out at lower costs...and do what they became vets to do...save lives. Your donation will absolutely make a difference. The family who needs help next might be yours or one you know. Together we can make nightmares like this a story of community engagement and success by all working together.
3/20/17--We started today with an enthusiastic trip to the dog park. What we didn't expect is that a dog fight would break out and Sophie, would be fighting for her life from a bite. She has a severe abdominal puncture and part of her intestine is protruding from the wall. We are sitting in Blue Pearl animal hospital desperately trying to find the funds to save her. They are estimating the surgery will cost $4,000. We have called several other vets and gotten the same price. We are asking you please to help us fund her emergency surgery. Any funds over the amount of the surgery will be donated to Frankie's Friends which is a new non-profit set up through Blue Pearl for situations just like these. Please help us by donations now. If we are lucky, we will be able to help Sophie and Frankie's friends. Please press the donate button now. We desperately need your help.
