Perez Family Fire Recovery Fund

We are raising money for the family of the Peppercorn Grille's dedicated and amazing Head Chef, Raul Perez. Early in the morning on Christmas Day he and his family narrowly managed to escape their home with their lives and only the clothes on their backs as it was engulfed in flames and totally destroyed.

While they lost all of their belongings, tragically, their neighbors, Maria Bautista and her three children perished in the same fire that morning. We are all devastated and grieving the loss to our community of these beautiful souls. For more information you may visit this article .

We are raising money to help the Perez Family replace their belongings and rebuild their lives. They are not only in need of a temporary place to live, but every essential required to continue living their very productive lives. This includes basic things that are easy to take for granted like towels, silverware, clothing, furniture, everything they once owned.

This family is one of the most hard-working, honorable, and loving families we've had the privilage of knowing. Over the past twelve years Raul has been an invaluable and integral part of growing the Peppercorn Grille into the exceptional restaurant that it is. He is a beloved member of our community and we know how many of our local and part-time regulars out there respect and adore him.

It is our sincerest hope that by getting the word out to our community, we will all rally together to support him and his family as they reestablish their lives here in Big Bear. Not only would all of us at The Peppercorn Grille be tremendously grateful for any help given to our friend and colleague, we know that Raul and his family would be moved beyond words.
