Dear Relatives & Friends of Dennis "DJ" Banks,
We are planning our father's 1 Year Memorial to be held at the Leech Lake Veteran's Powwow on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. All are invited to join us. Details of the memorial will be shared on Dennis J. Banks Facebook page.
The funds are needed immediately so that we can secure the 50% down payment of $6,000 which is the estimated total cost of both the black granite headstone and matching bench.
For the headstone, we are ordering a a black granite headstone with custom design of Dad's likeness, a turtle to represent his clan and Turtle Island, a quote of his, his personal signature and the original American Indian Movement patch. The monument stands 3' 6" tall with a matching black granite bench.
All funds will be used towards the purchase cost of the headstone and sitting bench, if there are any funds remaining after we pay the cost of the headstone and bench then we will apply all funds towards the expenses of the memorial celebration dinner and giveaway.
We want Dad's final resting place to be a welcome sanctuary to those who come to pay respects. We are asking for your help because we cannot do this alone financially. Any amount of donation will make a difference.
Please help us to honor our father with this beautiful monument that will forever mark his resting place and be a place of peace and sanctuary for all for eternity.
