Animals Without Borders - Greece

A life is a life and an act of kindness is an act of kindness regardless of the gender race and species.For two years, I have been volunteering in northern Greece at a refugee camp as well as throughout the area supporting families and creating platforms to place families in apartments. Everyday as I drive from the camp to the small village of Polykastro, I see stray dogs and cats along the side of the road. No food, water or care. Along with help from my friends I have facilitated moving the mothers with their babies and getting them to a safe place. The greek people I'm collaborating with have been lovely and are assisting us with translations as well as the placement.We have several goals:Get the puppies out of the camp and into a dog hotel, find a home and treat them for their medical issues, (we've taken out 25 out of the country so far), organize passports and required items to fly out of the country, place either an oil or tick and flea collar on as many stray animals as possible and feed them daily. With your help, we can make a dent in this ever growing problem. We’re working together with some local vets and a dog hotel to ensure the animals have food, proper medicine and the care that they deserve.
