Make Madyson Mobile

My name is Chad Shavers. I am starting this fundraising campaign to help with the expense of obtaining a suitable handicap accessible van for my daughter Madyson. Madyson and her twin sister Madylon were born 11 years ago. There were many complications following their premature birth. The girls eventually made it home. Over time as the girls grew it became evident that Madyson was not developing as fast as her bouncing twin sister. Investigation into this resulted in Madyson being diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Every day is a challenge but one that we are happy to accept. Our little family is a tough bunch. One of the things we are struggling with though is transportation. A few years ago we purchased a van to ease the ritual we had of breaking down and reassembling her wheelchair every time we need to travel. This has worked great. The situation now is that Madyson is scared to ride in the van. Previously we used a child car seat to make her feel secure but she has outgrown this. She is most comfortable in her wheelchair. So we started looking for a full size van outfitted with lifts and all appropriate safety equipment. As it turns out these are a quite a bit outside of our finance capabilities.
