Hi, my name is Luis Flores. When I was 2 years old I emigrated along with my parents and older sister to the United States. As I was growing up, I started to notice I was very different from the rest of the children. Not only due to my skin color but my language as well. I soon came to realize and understand that I could not hold a job due to my legal circumstances. Through the DACA program, however, I was given an opportunity along with my older sister to continue my education through college and hold a job along with a license.
About myself and my sister:
I am currently 20 years old and work at a Career Development Center. I will continue to attend college in late August in pursuit of a Graphic Design Career.
My older sister, Kassandra Flores is 22 and works at a small family owned car dealership as a Receptionist. She is also a new mom to a three month-year-old!
Due to college payments and unplanned expenses, I currently do not have the income to pay for my DACA renewal, nor help my sister on hers. Thanks to DACA we were given an opportunity to work for a better life for our families legally. Now, this opportunity is in a danger of being terminated permanently.
If anyone can help me and my sister to pay for our DACA renewal we will forever be grateful. This country is our home, it is where we have grown up, and where we want to continue contributing to.
Thank you very much.
