Emily's Fight

Emily Goncalves, "Gonc" for short, graduated from Seymour High School in June 2016 alongside her best friends. She is currently attending Southern Connecticut State University in hopes of getting into the nursing program to pursue a career in pediatric nursing. Awhile after she came back from spring break and started a new job, she developed pain in her left knee. After a couple of weeks of just thinking it was another torn tendon, she got it checked out at Yale Emergency Room. After multiple tests, the news came back that Emily has osteosarcoma above her left knee. Emily will be going through 29 weeks of chemotherapy and an extensive surgery to remove the tumor. She has already been through two rounds of chemo. Any donations will be gratefully appreciated to help with the relief of the financial burden.
